Maurice Clifton Sr. offers extensive expertise in providing re-entry support and spiritual guidance. As a Certified Recovery Specialist, Maurice works closely with justice-involved individuals, helping them transition back into society with dignity. His work within Color Your Story Onto Mine Inc. is centered on ensuring that trauma survivors are given the tools to heal emotionally and spiritually, building their self-worth and resilience. His role emphasizes the importance of faith-based initiatives in facilitating long-term recovery and personal transformation.
Raegan Newborn is the founder of Raestyless, a hair braiding and styling business that empowers individuals to express themselves confidently. In addition to her for-profit venture, Raegan leads the Raestyless Empowerment Program under Color Your Story Onto Mine Inc., providing free and low-cost hair styling services to trauma survivors and justice-involved individuals. Raegan’s role as Secretary brings organizational and creative strengths to the board, while her passion for empowering women and girls through personal care aligns with the nonprofit's mission to foster healing and self-expression.
Josh Snead serves as a passionate advocate for survivors of sex trafficking and individuals battling addiction. Through his involvement with We Fight Monsters and Color Your Story Onto Mine Inc., Josh focuses on housing and recovery resources to help survivors reclaim their identities and heal from trauma. His specialized knowledge in trauma recovery plays a pivotal role in the organization's efforts to address complex issues like abuse, addiction, and recidivism, ensuring that survivors are supported holistically on their journey to recovery.
While we work toward establishing permanent facilities, we are utilizing various community spaces to continue our mission:
- Workshops in Local Spaces: Our creative healing workshops are held at locations like Memphis Botanic Gardens, public libraries, and correctional facilities, where we engage survivors and justice-involved individuals in arts-based recovery and emotional healing.
- Peer Support and Storytelling: Through our Worth the Risk Youth of Memphis & Hope Row Chronicles project, we empower participants to tell their stories and share their journeys of resilience, preserving their narratives through art, writing, and collective expression.
- Faith-Based Recovery: We provide spiritual support and art-based healing workshops tailored to trauma survivors, focusing on emotional recovery and growth.
