About the Program:
Funded by the Tennessee Arts Commission, Worth the Risk Youth of Tennessee is CYSOM’s flagship youth empowerment program. This initiative aims to support young people in finding their voices and building resilience through creative expression. Targeted at at-risk youth, it integrates life skills, arts-based workshops, and mentorship to foster confidence, emotional literacy, and community connection.
Program Highlights:
- Creative Workshops: Interactive sessions in visual arts, storytelling, and music, allowing youth to express their unique journeys.
- Life Skills Training: Workshops focused on emotional resilience, communication, and nonviolent conflict resolution.
- Youth Showcase Events: Opportunities for participants to present their creative work to their communities, reinforcing self-esteem and achievement.

Support our mission by volunteering, mentoring, or donating to expand this impactful youth initiative.
The maximum amount of compensation STS artists may receive in any fiscal year from all STS activities is $16,000 for individual artists or $30,000 for arts groups. It is suggested that artists and arts organizations not charge admission for teachers, principals, parent chaperones, and other school staff accompanying students. Maximum of one free chaperone per ten students.

We provide holistic alternatives to deter crime, senseless homicides, and suicides by addressing Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) through artistic life skills to promote emotional intelligence & literacy.

We provide holistic alternatives to deter crime, senseless homicides, and suicides by addressing Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) through artistic life skills to promote emotional intelligence & literacy.
